Happy Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone!  I made 2 resolutions this morning...one was to start exercising and the other was to finish all half-done projects before starting anything new.  I did do 2 miles on the treadmill and then went downstairs to my sewing room to just get things organized.   And already broke resolution #2.  I downloaded the Lucky Star BOM from Don't Call Me Betsy and made the sample block.  It was so much fun that I don't feel guilty........much.

In earlier posts, I mentioned the quilts I made for my kids and their partners, but failed to mention what I made for my wonderful husband who supports my fabric addiction...so here is his wool pillow.....based on Lisa Bongean's table runner pattern.  Now that we are empty-nesters, we went to get the tree as always...but not quite as much fun as when the kids were little.

My daughter recently bought herself a new sewing machine and for the first time ever, has been interested in sewing.  She made me and her mother-in-law a little tote bag which she filled with her homemade chai tea and a beautiful depression glass cup and saucer with antique silver spoon.  She is the antique lover in the family and also brought me a beautiful assortment of vintage linens from her travels.

My son Luke gave me a gift certificate to Pins and Needles, my favorite local quilt shop and I plan to put it to good use with my best bud, Pat, very soon.   This was part of her Christmas present from me.

And.....a few unexpected gifts...winnings from 3 giveaways:

From Corrie at Quilt Taffy, a Posy charm pack.

From FreeSpirits Fabrics, 6 one yard cuts of their new line, Pirouette.

And from Anna Griffin/Blend Fabrics, a FQ collection of the Tilly Collection.

I am thrilled beyond belief with these winnings!   What a wonderful end to 2012!  And thanks to all who are gracious enough to visit and read my blog!!  xoxo
